My name is Harrison Bevins and I’m 30 years old.
I was born in California. Raised in an awesome little ski town called Park City where I learned to ski at the age of 2.
After growing up in one of the greatest places on earth I decided that I should go to school nearby so I attended college at the University of Utah.
I studied business finance and quickly found out that I was in it for the wrong reasons. I really wanted to do film but business was where the money was at. So, I followed the money!
I traveled Europe and studied abroad in Spain.
This would be the beginning of a nasty travel bug that would latch on to me and never let up.
Finally, I graduated in December 2013 with a degree in finance and a job lined up in New York City. I had 6 months to travel so I flew down to South America with a good friend and had one hell of an experience.
After my “once-in-a-lifetime” adventure, I flew back to the US depressed and not ready to face the real world.
New York City turned out to be awesome and I loved everything about it…Minus the part where you work all time. But, nonetheless, it’s still a badass city.
I got minimal days of vacation and wanted to scratch my eyeballs out every day at my desk.
Realized that this is what life would be like for the next 40 to 50 years until I retired.
Decided that this idea of a “career” did not make sense in the grander idea of a meaningful life. And with that, I said:
I Quit
I bought a one way ticket to Asia, started and sold two businesses, and now building my new building my new travel bag brand Oak & Rove. Throughout this journey, I’ve been creating, documenting, and inspiring many others along the way along the way!
